Once upon a time, there was a couple lived in a village. They were rich farmers. Their life was completely enough, but they were unhappy because they didn’t have a child. Every night, they prayed to God in order to had a child.
One day, there were a giant came into their house. The giant heard the prayer of them. Then, the giant made an agreement with the giant. The giant would gave them a child but he would took the child back when she was 17 years old. The Giant gave a seed of cucumber.
They planted and watered the seed everyday. A few months later, the seed grew up became a golden cucumber. When the cucumber ripe, they picked it up carefully. How surprised they were, there was a baby inside of the cucumber. They were so happy because of it. They named Timun Mas for the baby.
Year by year, Timun Mas grew up became a beautiful girl. Her parents loved Timun Mas so much and prouded of her. But they were afraid because the giant would back to take Timun Mas. As the agreement that they’ve been made before, the giant back and wanted Timun Mas.
The farmers tried to be calm. They asked the giant to wait for a minute. But actually they lay to the giant. Timun Mas was ran away. The giant was very angry and pounding across the forest to catch her up.
Timun Mas fought the giant with the things that was given by her mother. She threw the salt, then the sea appeared. The giant swam difficulty. After that, Timun Mas threw the chili and the grass became a thistle which was pricked the giant. But the giant never gave up, then, Timun Mas threw seeds of cucumber. Those seeds became cucumbers’ plant. The giant ate it and slept because he was too full up. Timun Mas could avoid the giant but suddenly the giant woke up. He tried to catch Timun Mas again. The only thing that Timun Mas had was terasi. She threw the terasi to the giant and it changed the land became mud. The giant lost in the mud and dissapeared.
Finally, Timun Mas went back to her parents and lived happily ever after with her lovely family.
